Durham
won the Northern League Second Division Cup Final 2-1
against Newton Aycliffe.

The first half was an even
match with chances falling for both teams. Jodie Gwynn opened the scoring for Aycliffe after breaking through the
Durham defence. Durham quickly levelled the score after Helen
Richardson slotted home.
The second half was an even
contest until a moment of magic from Julie Campbell. The
midfielder took the ball from her own half and after a
strong run blasted it past the Aycliffe 'keeper to win the
game for Durham.

The result marks a great first
season for Durham City who also finished runners up in the
league. Durham City Ladies would like to extend their thanks
to Crook Town FC for their kindness in the loan of their
ground for the final.
