Richardson had given
Durham an early lead before Middlesbrough replied twice with
well taken goals from Louise Eccles and Amy Laville. With
twenty minutes to go Lenny Gressmann got her first
goal of the season to level the game at 2-2. Richardson
then scored with what looked like Durham's winner with only
five minutes left, however a late equaliser from Vicki
Marshall sent the game into extra time.
In extra time, fine
goalkeeping from Korraine Boughen and the winner from
Richardson meant Durham turned out the eventual winners 4-3.

After the match Durham Captain
Dionne Martens was delighted with the result, "We know
that the First Division is a step up from the level we are
playing at now. However, today's game showed that we have
what it takes to battle out a victory against a more
experienced opposition".
