MATCH REPORT
Durham City Ladies beat Penrith 3-1 (6-3 on aggregate) to progress to the final of the Northern League 2nd Division Cup in their first ever season. They will play the winners of the Newton Aycliffe - Saltburn semi final.

Julie Campbell opened the scoring for Durham when the Penrith 'keeper failed to hold Magda Carr's initial shot. Woman of the match, Magda Carr, created further problems for Penrith when her cross was turned in by City striker Helen Richardson.

Twenty minutes into the second half Richardson made it 3-0 with her 40th goal of the season. She latched on to a great through ball from Gemma Charlton and pushed the ball past the advancing goalkeeper.

Penrith pulled one back when Nicola Armstrong scored a penalty with the last kick of the game.

City Captain, Dionne Martens was delighted to reach the final, "We are hoping to get the use of a good non-league ground for the final and it should be a super evening. It would be great if we can get a few fans from the City to come and support the club and hopefully we can put on a good performance."
