Durham
City Ladies beat Penrith 3-1 (6-3 on aggregate) to progress
to the final of the Northern League 2nd Division Cup in
their first ever season. They will play the winners of the
Newton Aycliffe - Saltburn semi final.

Julie Campbell
opened the scoring for Durham when the Penrith 'keeper
failed to hold Magda Carr's initial shot. Woman of the
match, Magda Carr, created further problems for Penrith when
her cross was turned in by City striker Helen Richardson.
Twenty minutes into the
second half Richardson made it 3-0 with her 40th goal
of the season. She latched on to a great through ball from
Gemma Charlton and pushed the ball past the advancing
goalkeeper.

Penrith pulled one back when
Nicola Armstrong scored a penalty with the last kick of the
game.City Captain,
Dionne Martens was delighted to reach the final, "We
are hoping to get the use of a good non-league ground for
the final and it should be a super evening. It would be
great if we can get a few fans from the City to come and
support the club and hopefully we can put on a good
performance."
