This section of WebGeordie shows you how to add a bit of functionality to your site using Javascript.

If you have got this far with the tutorial then you do not need pretty worked examples anymore - therefore the source code only is presented.

Five example pages are given...

1. Welcome Message - this prompts you for your name, then says hello... brilliant!

2. Time Display - in case you haven't got a watch on... this tells you the time.

3. Random Quote - a random quote generator.

4. Hover Info - a useful feature giving the user more info on a piece of text.

5. Drop-Down Menu - another useful feature allowing links to be contained within a drop down box.

6. Image Swapping - this is a quite common feature on a site which swaps an image when the mouse passes over it.

Note: JavaScript is not supported by all browser types

But remember that the main purpose of a web site is usually to get information across. Crowding your page with dancing babies and monkeys falling out of trees may turn people away from your site.
