MATCH REPORT

Durham took all three points against a Newton Aycliffe team who had defeated them earlier in the season.

Brady - Great first half strike

Two brilliant solo goals were the difference between the teams in the first half. After ten minutes Durham's Gemma Charlton beat four girls and then calmly slotted the ball past the visiting goalkeeper Tanya Lowerson. Assistant Captain Sharon Brady then made it two when she ran from midfield and then struck the ball in off the crossbar from outside of the box.

15 minutes into the second half Helen Richardson effectively killed off the game when she broke through the defence and made it 3-0 to Durham. Nicky Duckling got a late consolation goal for the Newton Aycliffe.

Campbell - Excellent Performance
Carr - MOM
Magda Carr received her first woman of the match award for some excellent link up play up front and she was delighted with the result, "This win puts us four points clear of Newton Aycliffe at the top of the league. We realise that there is still some way to go but if we can continue to battle out results like this one then we will stand a great chance of winning the league in our first season".
