Durham
were thankful to Crook Town FC for allowing them to use
their pitch for their final game of the season. City
entertained a strong Killingworth team who fielded a number of
players with experience playing in the woman's National
Premier League with Sunderland.
Campbell - WOM

Durham matched Killingworth
in the first half an hour with striker Helen Richardson
hitting the post for the home team. At the other end 'keeper
Lisa Marley made a fine penalty save.
Two Killingworth goals before half time shook Durham, but
they responded well in the second half taking the game to
the visitors. Gemma Charlton was unlucky when her well
struck free kick hit the crossbar as Durham continued to
play well.
Richardson - Goal

Helen Richardson pulled it
back to 2-1 after a great throughball from City skipper Julie
Campbell. But Killingworth caught Durham in the final
minutes to make it 3-1.
Manager Stephen Hamil was very positive
about his side's first season in the First Division, "I
am so proud of the way the girls have battled this year. On
a number of occasions we have given the top teams a run for
their money and finishing around the middle of the table
gives me every reason to be confident about the
future".
