To put your web site on the internet you must copy all of the web site files (htm, gif, jpg, mp3 etc.) from your computer onto your webspace. This process is called 'uploading'. The directory (folder) structure must be identical on both your computer's hard drive and your web space - otherwise the hyperlinks and images will not function. Many of the companies offering free web space (Geocities, Tripod, Xoom...) offer on-line uploading. This is reasonably user friendly and help is given. However, uploading is best done using a good FTP package. WebGeordie recommends either... Terrapin FTP - This is available free for 30 days, however, after this you must pay 20 for a license. Cute FTP - This is also available free for 30 days, again this is around 20 for a license. The documentation that comes with both packages is reasonably user friendly.
